The Chevy Cruze is Chevrolet's new compact car that will be taking the place of the Chevy Cobalt in Fall 2010. The Chevy Cruze will be a high quality entry in the compact car market. It has been on sale in Europe for a couple of years, and in addition to that it has gone through another grueling testing process totaling over 4 million miles for the American market. This looks to be a great car for Peoria and Illinois, especially for those seeking great value, high gas mileage, stylish looks and the best in safety from a small car. While the final specifications on the American Chevy Cruze have not yet been released, there are a few details to whet your appetite for a great new compact car in Peoria, Galesburg, Springfield, Bloomington Normal, or wherever you live in Illinois and beyond.

Safety
Driving, as you know, is dangerous. For the majority of Americans, driving is probably their most dangerous activity of their day. It's important to feel safe while driving, but it's more important to actually be safe while driving. That's why the Chevy Cruze comes with 10 standard airbags - more than what many competitors even offer as an option. These airbags include two front, side curtain airbags for the front row, knee airbags for the driver and front passenger, and side airbags for the front and back row. Other safety features revealed so far include electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes.

The Chevy Cruze is a visually appealing car. It has angles and an edgy look, giving off the impression that it's in another class. Interior

Technology
You might think this is a different class of car, with options like Bluetooth for hands free calling, a navigation system, and a nine speaker Pioneer sound system. Every Cruze has OnStar standard for the first six months. A three-month XM Radio trial is also included, plus you can plug in your iPod or mp3 player.

Performance
It is expected that the Cruze will reach 40 miles per gallon on the highway. Helpful in getting the Cruze to this goal are one of two direct injected engines. These include a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 138 horsepower, or a 1.8-liter four-cylinder with 136 horsepower. The Cruze also has very good handling capabilities and is based on the new Delta 2 architecture, which it shares with the Chevy Volt.

Options
Some of the options include leather seats, larger wheels, a spoiler, unique fabric accents, and a Pioneer sound system. More options will be revealed as the launch date approaches.
